We care about your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it, and how you can manage your data when using intrip. This includes information used to verify your eligibility to use the platform, such as your birth month and year.

1. What We Collect

  • We collect the following information:

  • Email address and/or phone number (for account verification, communication, and support)

  • Account location

  • Post location

  • Device type

  • User-generated content (e.g., photos, text posts, saved locations)

  • Basic technical data (e.g., IP address, browser type, device information)

  • Birth month and year (used to verify age eligibility; we do not collect the exact date of birth — only the month and year are stored. This data may also support internal analytics or future feature development; see Section 2).


2. Why We Collect It

  • We collect this information to:

  • Verify accounts and prevent misuse

  • Ensure users meet the minimum age requirement (18+) to use intrip

  • Provide platform features and location-based services

  • Send important updates or customer support messages

  • Improve the platform and user experience

  • Conduct internal analytics to understand user behavior and improve performance

We use your birth month and year to verify age and to better understand the demographics of our user base or develop new features.
We do not use it for advertising, direct personalization, or individual identification.


3. How We Protect Your Data

  • We apply technical and organizational security measures to protect your information, including:

  • Encryption of data where appropriate

  • Secure storage on trusted cloud providers (e.g., Supabase)

  • Restricted access to personal information, only available to authorized personnel

  • Limiting the use of birth month and year to age verification and platform development purposes

  • We do not store exact birthdates, and we do not use age data for tracking or profiling


4. Third-Party Services
We may use trusted third-party services to support intrip, such as:

  • MapTiler (for map tiles)

  • Geoapify and OpenStreetMap (for location and address details, and displaying static maps)

  • Supabase (for cloud storage and user authentication)

  • Potential future use of Firebase or Sentry (for analytics and error monitoring)

These third parties may collect and process certain information as part of their normal operations. We only work with providers that apply reasonable and appropriate security measures.

However, we cannot guarantee the practices of third-party providers beyond our control. Users acknowledge that their use of features powered by these services is at their own discretion and subject to the third parties’ respective privacy policies.

5. Your Rights
You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you

  • Correct inaccurate or outdated information

  • Request deletion of your personal information (subject to technical and legal limitations)

6. Country-Specific Requirements

  • We comply with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws, including:

  • British Columbia: Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA)

  • Alberta: PIPA

  • Quebec: Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector


7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if our data practices change or if legal requirements evolve.
We will notify users of material changes where appropriate.
By continuing to use intrip after updates are published, you accept the revised policy.
