intrip values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how and why we use it, how we protect it, and the choices available to you. This policy applies to all users of intrip and should be read together with our Terms and Conditions.


1. Information We Collect
We collect information necessary to provide, improve, and secure our Platform:

  • Identity Data: Email address and/or phone number.

  • Age Eligibility: Birth month and year (we do not collect full birthdates).

    Location Data:

  • Post Location: GPS coordinates linked to your user-generated content (photos, posts).

  • Account Location: Your general location used to personalize the map experience.

  • User Content: Photos, text, saved locations, and metadata attached to your posts.

  • Technical Data: Device type, OS version, IP address, and unique device identifiers used for security, fraud prevention, and performance monitoring.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Core Service: To manage your account, display map-based content, and enable location-linked features.

  • Safety & Security: To detect and prevent spam, abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access.

  • Verification: To support age eligibility requirements (18+).

  • Communication: To provide customer support, respond to inquiries, and send critical account notifications.

  • Analytics: To analyze usage patterns and improve Platform performance. We do not sell your personal data to third parties or use it for targeted advertising.

3. Data Storage & Cross-Border Transfer

  • Infrastructure: intrip relies on trusted cloud providers (e.g., Supabase). Your data may be stored or processed on servers located outside of Canada (including the United States).

  • Consent: By using the Platform, you consent to this cross-border transfer, noting that your data may be subject to the laws and access requests of foreign jurisdictions.

4. Data Retention & Deletion SOP

  • Retention Period: We retain your personal information only as long as your account is active or as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy.

  • Account Deletion: You may delete your account at any time via the App Settings. Upon deletion, your personal information will be purged or anonymized from our active databases, subject to standard technical backup cycles and legal retention requirements.

5. Third-Party Services
We utilize third-party providers for essential functionality:

  • Mapping: MapTiler, Geoapify, and OpenStreetMap.

  • Infrastructure: Supabase (Database & Authentication).

  • Monitoring & Analytics: Potential use of Firebase or Sentry for error reporting and performance analytics. These providers process data according to their own privacy policies. intrip is not responsible for the privacy practices of external services.

6. Your Rights & Choices
Under Canadian privacy laws (PIPEDA/BC PIPA), you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

  • Correction: Request updates to inaccurate or incomplete information.

  • Withdrawal of Consent: You may withdraw consent (e.g., by deleting your account), which will result in the cessation of data processing.

7. Children’s Privacy
intrip is strictly intended for individuals aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, we will take immediate steps to delete such information.

8. Legal Compliance
We comply with applicable Canadian privacy laws, including:

  • PIPEDA (Federal)

  • British Columbia PIPA (Provincial)

  • Quebec Law 25 (Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector)

9. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures (such as encryption and access controls) to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure; therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes & Contact
